A Warm Welcome: Whether in-person or via teletherapy, the session begins with introductions to help you feel at ease. We will discuss the structure of therapy and review essential privacy and confidentiality boundaries so you know exactly how your information is protected.
Exploring Your “Why”: We will spend time discussing the specific challenges or adversities that led you to seek support now. This might include current symptoms, life stressors, or patterns you’ve noticed in your daily life.
Setting Your Direction: You don’t need to have everything figured out. Together, we will start identifying what a “fulfilling and affirming life” looks like for you, setting initial goals that will guide our future sessions.
Assessment & Insights: We may ask about your personal and family history to get a fuller picture of your world. By the end of the meeting, you’ll have a clearer sense of how our therapeutic approach aligns with your needs.
What to Expect
Paperwork: You can complete your new patient forms online through the client portal ahead of time.
Logistics: Please have your insurance card and a form of payment ready.
Mindset: It is completely normal to feel nervous or emotional. Many clients find it helpful to jot down a few notes or questions they want to address, but showing up exactly as you are is the only requirement.
